What Is Compact OS

Windows 10 includes tools to help you use less drive space. You can now compress the files for the entire operating system, including your preloaded desktop applications. Compact OS lets you run the operating system from compressed files (similar to WIMBoot in Windows 8.1 Update 1) Compact OS work on both legacy BIOS and UEFI .

How to change from non-Compact OS to Compact OS using CMD

Open CMD as administrator (search cmd in start menu and right click on it and hit on 'Run as administrator')

and then type the following commands :-

To check if you are already on Compact OS:-

Compact.exe /CompactOS:Query /WinDir:C:\Windows

Where E is your Windows Drive

For Compact OS

Compact.exe /CompactOS:always

For Go back to non-Compact OS

Compact.exe /CompactOS:never

Pros

It can reduce disk space if you are using a netbook 32gb or 64gb emmc than you can save
